And becoming a PCA member wasn’t simply a matter of filling out a form or sending a subscription payment. The PCA rightfully consider all applications very seriously – with our criteria for membership including:
- Being trading for at least 2 years, with approved company accounts
- Holding a comprehensive industry recognised qualification
- A comprehensive and thorough auditing of all our processes, procedures and reporting to ensure they adhere to the PCA’s Management of Japanese Knotweed Code of Practice.

Insurance Backed Guarantees from us, that mean peace of mind for you
As PCA members we can offer Insurance-Backed Guarantees (IBGs) for up to 10 years from the completion of the Japanese Knotweed works.
IBGs serve to safeguard the regular long term guarantee that we provide to our clients, which means you are fully protected if any Japanese Knotweed resurfaces, or if any faults are found with the work in the unlikely event we are no longer trading.
Why do you need an Insurance Backed Guarantee?
Insurance Backed Guarantees – or IBGs as they are known – are designed to protect consumers against insolvency and are a requirement when securing a mortgage or lending against your home or site. An IBG can cover the costs to complete the process of Japanese Knotweed eradication, or will cover the remediation of regrowth once a completion notice has been issued.
Unfortunately not all IBGs are the same – however by being a full PCA member we are able to offer market leading guarantees that provide security and peace of mind to all our clients.
At Inspectas, there are two IBGs we can offer:
KNOT New
Members of the PCA are able to offer insurance protection covering the treatment, monitoring and guarantee of Japanese Knotweed and associated invasive species. This means you have cover right from the commencement of the contract, that protects all aspects of the works. This Insurance Backed Guarantee is underwritten by a UK based, authorised and regulated insurance company and gives peace of mind from day 1 of the process.
KNOT Express
The standard 10-year IBG that Inspectas is also able to offer protects against any regrowth post completion of the management plan. As a full member of the PCA we are able to offer our clients the reassurance that comes with the professionalism our team delivers, and in the unlikely case we were not able to fulfil our responsibilities the Insurance Backed Guarantee will cover the eventuality.
So whatever the scenario – you’re covered with us.
Proud members of the TrustMark initiative
TrustMark is the scheme supported by the Government, consumer groups and building industry to help members of the public find reputable firms to do repair, maintenance and improvement work inside and outside a home.
In order to support this important government initiative, the PCA become one of the founder scheme operators.
Because of the high standards of service and quality that is expected from PCA members, they were then able to extend the offer of TrustMark accreditation to all contractor members – and that means Inspectas.
